How the ruble route works
- The transfer runs on SBP, the Russian instant-payment system: a phone number, your own banking app, minutes to arrive. Card details never enter the deal.
- Ruble banknotes are close to useless in Vietnam — shops will not take them and most exchange counters will not either. There is no reason to carry a stack of cash rubles here.
- You never have to walk into the office for this: the dong can be delivered inside Da Nang or sent by VietQR to a Vietnamese account, and collected in cash at 134 Đỗ Bá if you prefer.
Do I need a bank card to exchange rubles?
No. An SBP transfer to a phone number from your Russian banking app is enough. We never ask for a card number, expiry date or CVV, because the card is simply not part of this route.
Should I bring cash rubles to Vietnam?
No. Cash rubles are almost impossible to spend or exchange here. Leave the money on your Russian account and send it by SBP once you are in Da Nang — the conditions are laid out on /exchange.
