What matters when you bring dollars
- Note condition counts. Torn, taped and heavily worn bills are taken reluctantly or at a discount across Vietnamese exchange counters, so sort your cash before you come and show questionable notes separately.
- Large denominations usually get a better rate than small ones: a single hundred is worth more than the same amount in fives and tens.
- Dollars are a cash-only, in-office deal — there is no wire route for this currency. The dong side stays flexible: cash at 134 Đỗ Bá, delivery inside Da Nang or a VietQR transfer to a Vietnamese account.
Will you accept a worn or torn dollar bill?
