Should you change money at Da Nang airport
Short answer: change what you need for the ride and the first few hours, then do the rest in town. Airport exchange counters worldwide tend to price below city rates — that is how the format works, not a complaint about any particular operator. A passenger walking out of arrivals has no time to compare, and the spread reflects it.
Landing with zero dong is its own problem, though. A taxi, water, a SIM card, something to eat — most of that is paid in cash here. So the sensible plan is a small exchange at the airport and a proper one in Da Nang, where you can check the rate on /kurs before you decide anything.
Today's city rateGetting through arrivals without overpaying
- 1
Work out what you need until evening
Transport to your accommodation, water, a snack, a SIM card. That is the amount worth changing at the airport — no more than that.
- 2
Do not convert the whole trip at the counter
Whatever rate you accept applies to the full sum. On taxi money the difference is trivial; on a two-week budget it is not.
- 3
Check the city rate first
Our live rate is on /kurs and the exchange terms on /exchange. Both are readable from the arrivals hall, before you reach any counter.
- 4
Change the rest in Da Nang
Send us the amount: we fix the rate at the moment of the order and hold it until the transfer is done, usually five to ten minutes. Dong comes as cash at 134 Đỗ Bá, by delivery across the city, or by VietQR. Directions are on /contacts.

What changing money in town gives you
- You know the number before the deal: the rate is fixed when you place the order and held until the transfer completes.
- No need to travel across the city with a thick envelope — we deliver in Da Nang or settle by VietQR to a Vietnamese account.
- One counter for everything: dollars, euros, pounds, yuan, yen, won, Singapore and Malaysian dollars, pesos, rupiah and USDT in two networks.
- Rubles are handled as an SBP transfer to a phone number — no card needed, which matters because Russian cards do not work abroad at all.
Frequently asked
- Is it worth exchanging money at Da Nang airport?
- For the ride into town and your first expenses, yes — that is a fair price for convenience. For your whole trip, no: airport rates are usually worse than city rates, and the gap applies to every note you convert.
- Why is the airport rate worse?
- It is how airport counters work everywhere: expensive floor space and a customer who has no alternative at that moment. Nothing specific to Da Nang.
- How much should I change right after landing?
- Just the first leg: a taxi or Grab to your accommodation, water, a snack, a SIM. The exact figure depends on where you are staying and what time you land — count it from your own plan.
- I land at night and your office is closed. What then?
- We are open daily 10:00–20:00. On a night arrival, change the minimum at the airport for transport and do the main exchange the next day, in the office or by delivery across Da Nang.
- Can I skip the airport exchange entirely?
- Yes, if your transfer to the hotel is already paid. But you will want dong on your first day regardless — markets, small cafés, taxis and motorbike rental are usually cash.
